Science Curriculum

Above outlines everything that is covered in the science curriculum for grades 4-6.  The different units are organized by colour.  Each point is a "Big Idea" of the unit.  What this means is, this is a key idea or concept that students will learn by the end of the unit!

 This year we will be focusing on the Grade 5 portion!  So this includes:
- Human Organ Systems
- Forces Acting on Structures and Mechanisms
- Properties of and Changes in Matter
- Conservation of Energy and Resources

Parents/Guardians, Welcome back to the school year!  My name is Miss. Pettorossi (or Miss. P!) and I get the wonderful opportunity to teach your child this year!  Before we dive in, here’s a bit about myself: I grew up in Stoney Creek, Ontario as the oldest of three children.  I moved to St. Catharines in order to attend Brock University, where I received my BSc in Mathematics and BEd.  Now back in Hamilton, I am living my lifelong dream of educating today’s youth!
